Are You Worthy to Make Money?

Are You Worthy to Make Money? blog post

Many of the clients I have worked with had negative money beliefs, which prohibited them from building wealth. One of those beliefs was that they didn’t think they were worthy of making money. I know what that feels like because I was there once, too. But then I decided to take my money relationship seriously. I decided to reach for prosperity, and I learned a few valuable lessons, which I’ll share with you today.

“Sometimes the biggest financial lesson Christian women need to learn is that they’re worthy of making money.”

If there’s one truth that has the power to change a woman’s financial future, it’s this:

You are worthy of making money.

Not just scraping by.
Not just getting by with “just enough.”
But truly making money.
Thriving.
Prospering.
Flourishing.

And not because you worked yourself into exhaustion. Not because you finally proved your worth. But simply because you are already worthy.

As a Christian woman, I know how negative money beliefs can block the vision God has for our finances. Many of us were raised to believe that wanting financial abundance was selfish or unspiritual. Some of us grew up hearing messages like “money is the root of all evil,” or “a good Christian woman shouldn’t care about material things.” Those are all negative money beliefs.

But friend, the actual verse says, “For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil” (1 Timothy 6:10, NKJV)—not money itself.

Let’s make this clear: God delights in blessing His daughters. He doesn’t withhold goodness. But sometimes, the reason we’re not walking in financial prosperity isn’t because we’re not working hard enough… It’s because we’ve unintentionally aligned ourselves with negative money beliefs. We’ve unconsciously believed a lie: “I’m not worthy of making money.”

This one lie has robbed too many women of their dreams, their freedom, and their God-given ability to create a beautiful, prosperous life.

So today, I want to talk to the woman who loves God, shows up for everyone else, and still feels unworthy when it comes to money. If that’s you, I see you. And I want to remind you of a sacred truth:

Your worth is not up for debate. Not in the Kingdom of God. Not ever. Jesus died for you and purchased your freedom with His blood. You are God’s beloved daughter, and that makes you valuable.

5 Action Steps to Eliminate Negative Money Beliefs and Believe You’re Worthy to Make Money

These are not just surface-level tips. These are heart-level shifts I’ve had to make to come out of alignment with negative money beliefs in my own journey, and doing this changed everything. These steps will help you create a new money story.

Step 1: Recognize That Financial Prosperity is Part of Your Inheritance

Psalm 35:27 says, “Let the Lord be magnified, who has pleasure in the prosperity of His servant.”

God is not reluctant to bless you—He wants to. But sometimes, we unknowingly reject His blessings because we don’t believe we deserve them. Start declaring that financial prosperity is part of your spiritual inheritance, and give yourself permission to receive it.

Step 2: Rewrite the Money Story You Inherited

Many of us learned how to view money from childhood—what we heard, saw, and experienced. If your story sounds like “there’s never enough,” or “I have to struggle to earn love,” it’s time to rewrite that narrative.

Create a new money story rooted in truth. For example:

  • “I am provided for by a loving Father.”
  • “I can earn money with peace, grace, and joy.”
  • “I don’t have to sacrifice my well-being to be financially secure.”

Step 3: Stop Apologizing for Your Desires

God placed desires in your heart for a reason. Wanting to earn more money, build a business, or live debt-free isn’t selfish—it’s sacred. Especially when your heart’s intention is to use your resources to bless others, take care of your family well, and walk in your calling.

You don’t have to downplay your dreams to make others comfortable. Own them. Pray over them. Pursue them boldly.

Step 4: Tend to the Roots of Worthiness Wounds

If you grew up in a home where your emotional needs weren’t met, where love felt conditional, or where you were made to feel like “too much” or “not enough,” those experiences may have planted seeds of unworthiness. And those roots can show up in your finances—like undercharging, overdelivering, or avoiding your finances altogether.

Take time to gently explore those wounds with God. Ask Him to show you the truth about who you are, and let His love begin to heal what’s been broken. Healing from financial wounds is a process, so be patient as you heal the wounds of the past.

Step 5: Surround Yourself with Prosperity-Minded, Faith-Filled Women

You were never meant to walk this journey alone. One of the most powerful things you can do is surround yourself with other women who believe that financial breakthrough is possible—and who aren’t afraid to talk about money from a place of faith and confidence. Having a faith community matters. And so does being seen, celebrated, and supported in your journey toward abundance.

CONCLUSION

You were created on purpose, for a purpose.
You are not meant to hustle for your worth.
You are already worthy—because God says you are.

And yes, you are worthy of making good money. Of being well-paid. Of enjoying financial peace. Of building wealth that blesses generations.

This is your time. Not someday. Not when you finally feel ready. But now.

Let today be the day you say:

“No more playing small. I receive all that God has for me—including financial blessings.”
