Do you believe that God wants us to dream big? As a professional, smart, woman of faith, you’ve got desires in your heart and goals to pursue. God is the one who put those dreams in your heart!
Succeeding and reaching our goals in the modern world requires that we keep ourselves motivated. We have to believe in the power of our dreams and trust in the promises of God. Every. Single. Day.
That’s what will keep us going when the going gets tough.
Choosing to follow our dreams is not an easy journey. Sure, we have good days, even great days. But truth be told, we have tough days, too.
So when the going gets tough, what does God want us to do?
5 steps for women of faith to dream BIG:
1 – You have to know your big dreams are possible
Surround yourself with others who are already doing what you want to do. Seeing their results will cause you to say, “If they can do it, I can too!” Success breeds success. Listen to their stories and let them inspire you. Pick up the clues their success leaves behind. But remember not to compare their middle to your beginning. Everyone starts somewhere. You can start right where you are, knowing that it’s possible because you’ve seen others do what you want to do.
2 – Think bigger to dream bigger
How big do you want to dream? If you are going to make your dreams come to pass, you must allow your mind to imagine a future worth living. It starts with your imagination, which is an act of the will. Do you have the will to imagine your dreams manifested?
When you combine imagination, faith, and focus, there is nothing that can stop you. Imagination causes a boldness to rise up on the inside of you, which makes you an unstoppable force.
Ephesians 3:20 says, “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think…”
This tells us that God wants us to be big thinkers and we need to expand our thinking to think big as He does.
I LOVE how the Amplified version says it:
“Now to Him Who, by (in consequence of) the [action of His] power that is at work within us, is able to do super abundantly, far over and above all that we [dare] ask or think [infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams]…”
Now that’s thinking BIG!
3 – Be willing to do the work
“How long will you slumber, O sluggard? When will you rise from your sleep?” Proverbs 6:9
How hard are you willing to work toward fulfilling your dream? Work brings the fulfillment of your dreams to fruition. It expands your vision into reality. Focused effort (knowing what to do next and when) will bring you closer to your dreams than haphazard activity.
First, be willing to imagine a future worth living then get to work on the first step, staying focused every step of the way.

4 – Forget the past so you can see your big future
You can dwell on the past. Or, you can dwell on your future. But you can’t move forward dwelling on both. How much of your past are you willing to forget? How much of your past are you willing to forgive?
“But this one thing I do: forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before” Philippians 3:13
“If you keep dwelling on what happened, nothing will happen.” –Jesse Duplantis
Make a decision to forget the past and move forward, full speed ahead.
5 – Transform your money story
What holds so many women back from achieving their financial dreams is that they actually think it’s more virtuous NOT to be wealthy. That is simply not true. God did not create any of us to just barely get by.
Most dreams take money to make them happen. He created us to prosper. Not just barely get by.
“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.” 3 John 1:2
“Let the Lord be magnified who hath pleasure in the prosperity of His servant.” Psalm 35:27
Don’t let anyone convince you that God does not want you to be wealthy. He does! Why? Because we are in a better position to bless others who are in need when we have the money to do so.
God wants us to dream big because we are blessed to be a blessing to others.
God planted dreams in your heart – you know those things that make your heart sing? God created you for a divine purpose. And part of that purpose is to prosper and be wealthy. It is okay to have money as long as you don’t let money have you.
Transforming your money story includes owning your inherent worth and the value you bring to the world. It includes expanding your beliefs about what is possible for you and those you are called to serve.
God wants us to dream bigger so we can fulfill His mission. His divine purpose for our lives is greater than we can imagine.
“Clear lots of ground for your tents! Make your tents large. Spread out! Think big!“
