How Do You Pray for Financial Abundance?

How do you pray for financial abundance?

How do you pray for financial abundance may be what’s on your heart today if you need a financial breakthrough. Today, I’m sharing a prayer from my book, 40 Days of Prayer for My Finances.

Having gone through my own financial struggles in the past, I know what it’s like when stress over finances rules your life. Every client I’ve worked with came to me with some sort of financial mess to untangle. So, if you’re in a mess of your own, you’re not alone. We’ve all been there at one point or another.

The good news is financial stress and worry is not your lot in life. God has abundance and prosperity for you.

How to pray for financial abundance

Had I not gone through my own financial storm over fifteen years ago, I wouldn’t have much to offer you in the way of hope (and I would never have become a financial coach). But since I did (you can read my money story here), I can answer this question not just from experience but from a place of victory. Glory to God.

If you’re praying for a financial breakthrough, you’ll need to focus all your energy and attention on renewing your mind to the Word of God, so that His promises become more alive and more real to you than the financial sorrows you face.

In his book, Woman Thou Art Loosed!, T.D. Jakes tells us, “When you see sorrow multiply, it is a sign that God is getting ready to send something to you.”

Does it feel like your financial sorrows have multiplied? Then do as Bishop Jakes instructs and embrace the pain of financial struggle as a sign. But don’t focus on the pain. It’s simply a sign you are birthing what God wants you to have.

In Genesis, God explains that birthing comes through sorrow. Everything we bring forth, whether a dream, a goal, or a vision, comes through birthing pains.

To the woman He said: “I will greatly multiply your sorrow and your conception; In pain you shall bring forth children; Your desire shall be for your husband, and he shall rule over you.” (Genesis 3:16 NKJV)

Don’t see financial challenges as your lot in life. Stop feeling like a victim. That’s what satan wants for you. But you, sister-in-Christ, are not a victim. You are the daughter of the most high God and He has promised you financial abundance.

“And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 4:19 (NIV)

When you see yourself as the conqueror God made you to be, you’ll pick up your sword and fight. Confidence and trust in God’s Word will give way to financial stress and worry. The promises of God will become more real to you than the pile of unpaid bills on the kitchen counter.

Take your eyes off of the pain and focus on the prize. T.D. Bishop encourages us:

“You will give birth! That’s why you have suffered pain. Your spirit is signaling you that something is trying to get through. Don’t become so preoccupied with the pain that you forget to push the baby. Sometimes you’re pushing the pain and not the baby, and you’re so engrossed with what’s hurting you that you’re not doing what it takes to produce fruit in your life. When you see sorrow multiply, it is a sign that God is getting ready to send something to you. Don’t settle for the pain and not get the benefit. Hold out. Disregard the pain and get the promise. Understand that God has promised some things to you that He wants you to have, and you’ve got to stay there on the table until you get to the place where you ought to be in the Lord.” (Woman Thou Art Loosed!)

In my new book, 40 Days of Prayer for My Finances: Powerful Prayers for Financial Breakthrough, I share forty days of prayer points to pray over your finances.

Here is an excerpt to demonstrate how to pray and trust God for abundance in your finances:

Day 23, Trust God Completely

“Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don’t get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes.” Matthew 6:34 MSG

Father, starting today, I choose to trust You completely. I know You are willing and able to help me resolve my financial difficulties. I want to become so consumed by Your Word that no negative circumstance, credit card statement, or late notice can phase me. Instead, I choose to respond to difficulties with bold faith and the Truth, which is Your Word.

I choose to walk by faith, not by sight.
I choose to walk by faith, not by late notices.
I choose to walk by faith, not by phone calls from creditors.
I choose to walk by faith, not by credit scores.
I choose to walk by faith, not by late charges.
I choose to walk by faith, not by unpaid loan balances.
I choose to walk by faith, not my paycheck.
I choose to walk by faith, not by stress, worry, or fear.

Heavenly Father, I choose to trust You. Your Word says You shall perfect all that concerns me (Psalm 138:8). I am more than a conqueror in all these things (Romans 8:37). Hallelujah for that!

In the name of Jesus, I pray, Amen.

Pray that prayer from a place of victory, knowing that God has already provided a successful outcome for you.
