Financial Breakthrough in the Bible

If you need some encouragement and you want to learn more about financial breakthrough in the Bible, you’re in the right place. Many of my readers have contacted me, wanting to know what God’s Word says about overcoming financial difficulties. So, I wrote a book about it, “God Wants You Blessed,” and I want to share an excerpt with you today.

My friend, you may feel so beat up over your financial mess that you cannot believe God’s promises. That’s precisely why I wrote God Wants You Blessed—to come alongside you and shine a ray of hope in the darkness. You won’t be able to believe God for His promises if your strength is too small.

Proverbs 24:10 NLT says, “If you fail under [financial] pressure, your strength is too small.” But, as Pastor Keith Moore reminds us, “A strong spirit can get you through anything.”

God Wants You Blessed is meant to strengthen your spirit so you can get through this storm and come out the other side as the conqueror God made you to be.

Walking through my own financial storm years ago strengthened my faith and made me the prayer warrior I am today. That season of financial pressure eventually produced in me that which was necessary to receive God’s promises of abundance and provision. I had to come to the end of myself and learn to lean on and trust God completely. There was no way out of my financial mess without the mighty hand of God leading me out to victory.

When I was dealing with six-figure credit card debt, against the advice of several attorneys, I chose not to file for bankruptcy (because God told me not to). Instead, I carefully and strategically devised a plan to pay off all my creditors in approximately five years. It was the most grueling experience I have ever gone through. The only thing that kept me from sinking into depression was feeding on the Word of God EVERY DAY.

Now, I can tell you with no uncertainty that VICTORY over financial struggle is yours, but you must believe that’s what God wants for you. It’s not God who is holding back your provision. Satan is the culprit. John 10: 10 in the Amplified Classic tells us, “The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).”

Do you see that? Jesus doesn’t want you to have only enough to barely get by. He wants you to have abundance until it overflows! Get excited about that.

If you’re feeling beaten down by financial challenges, it’s time to rise up and conquer the mountain. Pick yourself up and dust yourself off. Take authority over the storm and know that there is light at the end of the tunnel, and that light is Jesus.

God has a plan for you, and it’s not to stay in the storm. “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “Plans to prosper you, not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29: 11 NIV).

You do not have to suffer in silence under the weight of financial burdens. Take your authority in Christ Jesus and stand on God’s promises, which are YES in Him, and AMEN in Him (2 Corinthians 1:20). God’s Word does not return to Him void, but it does accomplish the purpose for which He sent it (Isaiah 55:10-11). Choose TODAY to renew your mind to the Word of God and allow your faith to expand to the level of His blessings. As Pastor Nancy Dufresne says, “Your victory is waiting for your faith to show up.”
