Don’t Give Up Hope in God

Don't give up hope in God - new faith blog post

There have been seasons in my life when I felt like the promises of God were for everyone else but me. I’d pray, wait, declare His Word—and still, nothing seemed to change. Maybe you’ve been there too. Waiting can be lonely. It can test our faith and wear on our hearts. But one thing I’ve learned through every long season is this: we must not give up hope in God.

Even when we can’t see the breakthrough…even when the silence feels deafening…even when the storm gets stronger instead of quieter—God is still working behind the scenes.

His promises never fail, and His timing is always perfect. This blog post is for every woman who’s weary in the waiting. I want to remind you, friend, that your hope is not misplaced. Let’s walk through this together.

Waiting on the promises to come to pass in your life can be one of the most challenging aspects of our faith walk. Uncertainty tries to take hold of your heart because you’re not seeing any movement in your situation. Or maybe things seem to be getting worse, and you’re losing hope with each day that passes.

Don’t give up hope in God while you’re waiting on His promises because He is faithful to His Word.

My covenant I will not break, nor alter the word that has gone out of My lips. (Psalm 89:34 NKJV)

God is not human. He does not tell lies. He does not change his thoughts. If he promises to do something, it happens. (Numbers 23:19 EASY)

Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. (Hebrews 10:23 NKJV)

If you’ve been waiting for the promises of God and you’re losing hope because nothing is happening—or things are even getting worse—perhaps you need to pour more of the Word into your heart.

The Word is a seed that needs to be planted in the soil of your heart, where it can produce a harvest.

My friend, if you’re growing weary while waiting on the promises of God, I can tell you right now, you’re not “waiting” on the Lord. Isaiah 40:31 tells us that waiting on the Lord will strengthen your resolve to keep trusting and hoping in God’s promises.

But those who wait on the Lord

Shall renew their strength;

They shall mount up with wings like eagles,

They shall run and not be weary,

They shall walk and not faint.

Isaiah 40:31 NKJV

In Isaiah 40:31, the Hebrew word for “wait” is qavah, which means more than just passive waiting; it’s waiting actively.

In the context of Strong’s Concordance, qavah (H6960) is a Hebrew verb that means to wait, look for, expect, hope, or collect. It’s binding together, joyful expecting, and looking forward with a confident expectation. (Source)

When we “wait” actively, we gain new strength. If you’re feeling weary in the waiting, you’re not actively waiting; you’re passively waiting.

How do you actively wait on the Lord? Let’s look to the Scriptures:

But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper. (Psalm 1:2-3 NKJV)

And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. (Galatians 6:9)

For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us. (2 Corinthians 1:20)

…that you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises. (Hebrews 6:12)

Conclusion

If you’re clinging to God’s promises with trembling hands today, I want to encourage you—don’t let go. Don’t give up hope in God. He sees you. He hears your prayers. He collects every tear and understands every ache in your heart.

Hope in God is never wasted. He’s the Author of your story, and He is still writing beautiful things—even if you can’t see the next chapter yet. Keep pressing into His Word. Keep speaking life over your situation. Keep trusting in His faithfulness.

I believe with all my heart that there is a breakthrough ahead for you because God’s Word does not lie.

Your season is coming. Your harvest is on the way. And when it comes, it will be better, sweeter, and more glorious than you ever imagined.

You are not alone in the waiting. I’m cheering you on, and more importantly, God is with you every single step of the way.

One of my go-to verses when I’m waiting on God’s promises is Hebrews 13:5 in the Amplified Bible, Classic Edition (AMPC):

He [God] Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. [I will] not, [I will] not, [I will] not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let [you] down (relax My hold on you)! [Assuredly not!]

Go ahead and claim that verse as your own. Hold onto hope, sweet friend. Your miracle is closer than you think.
