Accept God’s grace to create the life you really want

If you are not excited about your life today, perhaps you need to accept God’s grace to create the life you really want. If your passion is lacking, you aren’t living the life God meant for you. But you have the power to choose, and that’s just what God wants you to do. Choose the life He has for you.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11 NIV)
If your life looks nothing like the dream you have in your heart, have faith and trust God. When you do, He’ll give you the desires of your heart. Who do you think put those desires in your heart in the first place?
“Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He will give you the desires and secret petitions of your heart.” (Psalm 37:4 AMPC)
Imagine jumping out of bed every morning because you’re so excited about the life you’ve co-created with God. Living your dream life is what’s possible when you take full responsibility for how your life is now and be intentional about creating what you want, walking out the plans He has for you.

To help you embrace this way of thinking about what’s possible for your luscious new life, I encourage you to pull out a notebook and begin writing the things you’ve always wanted to BE, DO, and HAVE. Imagine that lack of time or money is not an issue. Let the desires of your heart flow onto the page with no resistance. Don’t try to figure out the HOW. The HOW is not your role; it’s God’s.
Possibility Thinking Exercise to Create the Life You Really Want
Follow these journal prompts to get the juices flowing:
- If failure were not an option, what goal would you go after this year?
2. What would you do with your life if time or money were not an issue?
3. If you could have it any way you wanted, what would you create in your life?
4. What are the desires God has placed in your heart?
5. What would make you jump out of bed every morning?
6. What do you love to do so much that you would do it for free and be amazingly happy?
7. What would you do if you could spend your time doing anything you wanted today?
Allow yourself to think big, even if it feels silly. Respond to each prompt and allow the desires of your heart to come alive. Then watch how new possibilities show up for you. You might be tempted to think they’re coincidences. But you’ll soon realize they are God’s way of showing you that you’re on the right track.
