Healing From Financial Wounds

Sometimes if you’re not thriving in your finances, it can be a reflection of a wound in your soul. God’s Word tells us that when we prosper in our souls, we prosper in our health and finances, too.

Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.

3 John 2

Hurtful things that happen to us, such as trauma, can cause a wound in your soul. But thank God He promises to restore your soul (see Psalm 23), so there is no need to walk around with a wounded soul. Today’s post is an excerpt from my new book, 40 Days of Prayer for My Finances.

Pray this prayer to God so He can show you if you have a soul wound that needs to be healed.

Day 15: Healing From Financial Wounds

Psalm 147:3

“He heals the brokenhearted
and binds up their wounds.”

Father God,

I come to You in the name of Jesus Christ concerning the state of my finances. I humbly ask for discernment in situations where I might need healing from a financial trauma. Reveal to me if past traumatic experiences that left a wound in my soul have brought any financial troubles I am experiencing now.

It may be from a season of life that was so painful, I’ve unconsciously buried it deep within my heart because I don’t want to think about it again. I pray for the inner strength to face these dark places of my past, so that You can bring healing to the soul wounds I carry, as only You can. Give me the courage to allow Your loving hand to reach deep into the chamber of my pain, so You can turn the darkness into light.

Whether from past mistakes, betrayals, cruel dealings with others, or unforeseen events, let Your grace renew and restore my soul, bringing me resilience and financial health. Grant me also the ability to forgive those who have wronged me. I know there is healing available to me when I am willing to forgive those who have trespassed against me.

Thank you for making all things new again. Thank you for restoring me to wholeness, so my soul can prosper.

In Jesus’ name, I pray,
