5 Keys to Prosper in the Kingdom of God

It really bothers me when I hear Christians bashing other Christians for their desire to want to do well financially. To be clear, this post is not to promote worldly materialism or financial gain for selfish reasons. I simply want to balance the illogical notion that Christians should be paupers with the more healthy perspective that God wants His children to reflect His goodness, which includes His desire for His children to thrive in every area of life. We are blessed to be a blessing to others! Let’s discuss the 5 keys to prosper in the Kingdom of God.
5 Keys to Prosper in the Kingdom of God:
1-Believe that God wants His people to do well, succeed and prosper…
Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers. (3 John 1:2)
This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. (Joshua 1:8)
And my God will liberally supply (fill to the full) your every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. (Phil. 4:19 AMPC)
And you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day. (Deuteronomy 8:18)
Wealth and honor come from you alone…. (1 Chronicles 29:12)
Whoever pursues righteousness and love finds life, prosperity and honor. (Proverbs 21:21 NIV)
For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich. (2 Corinthians 8:9)
2-Give God first place in your life –
But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. (Matthew 6:33)
Man shall not live by bread alone; but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the Lord. (Deuteronomy 8:3b)
3-Jesus came so that we would live a blessed life –
The thief does not come except to steal, to kill and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. (John 10:10)
4-The key to living a blessed life and prospering is dwelling in God’s word….
If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. (John 15:7)
I love how the Bible in Basic English (BBE) says it: If you are in me at all times, and my words are in you, then anything for which you make a request will be done for you.
Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. (Matthew 4:4)
5-Build your faith in God, believing that He will provide for you –
So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. (Romans 10:17)
Do not be afraid; only believe. (Mark 5:36b)
With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible. (Mark 10:27)
Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us… (Ephesians 3:20)
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. (Phil 4:6)
Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. (Phil 4:8)
And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. (Phil 4:19)
BONUS: To prosper in the Kingdom of God also requires you to strategically protect yourself from the evil one who does not want you to enjoy biblical prosperity.
Put on the Whole Armor of God.
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. (Ephesians 6:10-17)
Forgive everyone, yourself included.
This is important because not forgiving ourselves for past financial mistakes can keep us stuck in the past. Releasing regret and the pain of loss from money mistakes is a major key to healing our relationship with money.
And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses. (Mark 11:25)
Pray the prayers of protection over yourself and your household EVERY DAY (read these scriptures out load).
Psalm 91; Psalm 112:1-3; and Isaiah 54:17
Use your words strategically.
For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them. (Mark 11:23-24 emphasis mine)
Did you catch that? You’ve got to believe that you receive the things that you say. It takes faith to believe what we say when what we say doesn’t reflect current reality. But God says call those things that be not as though they were. (Romans 4:17)
Prayer in your heavenly prayer language every morning and throughout the day.
But you beloved, building yourself up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, (Jude 1:20)
