Why you must believe in the power of your dreams

Why you must believe in the power of your dreams

It truly saddens me to watch women sit on the sidelines year after year because they’re too afraid to believe in the power of their dreams. I know from personal experience how scary it is to go after your heart’s desires. Especially if it means upsetting the status quo of your entire life in order to do it.

Sometimes answering the call to follow the dream God placed in your heart means turning your life upside down. But in the end, if your choose to believe in the power of your dreams, you won’t have to live with regret.

That’s how it was for me.

You see, eleven years ago, I found myself stuck in an extremely difficult situation. I was in a fifteen year relationship with an overbearing man who criticized me constantly. I was extremely unhappy inside.

I wanted more than anything to pursue the vision God put in my heart. I wanted to become a life coach; to teach women’s workshops and write, and to find a wonderful husband. At the time, those things seemed so impossible to me.

It was in those days that I came to know the power of focused prayer and fasting. One day, after a 30-day Daniel fast, I had a moment of crystal clear clarity. It became quite obvious that I was to end the relationship and move on with my life. God was calling me to something better.

But even though I knew that, it was still difficult to leave. Not because I wanted to stay with this guy, but because I was afraid of the unknown.

I’ll admit, going after my God-given dreams was one of the scariest decisions I ever made.

But I’m here to tell you, if you have a dream burning in your heart, you have got to believe it is meant for you. You have got to choose to believe in the power of your dreams.

Your dreams are not random thoughts. They are a glimpse into what’s possible for you; the vision God created you to live.

Yes, it’ll take an unbelievable amount of courage, dedication and self-development. (Put a strong emphasis on self-development.)

But in the end, it’s the only way you’ll be truly fulfilled.

How do I know that?

Because today I AM a life and money coach and a writer. I lead workshops and I am married to a wonderful man who absolutely adores me. I absolutely love my life!

I am eternally grateful that God put the vision in my heart for something better than the miserable life I was living.

All I had to do was answer the call.

If I can do it, so can you.

I’d like to close by sharing this powerful quote on vision:

”Keep your dreams alive. Understand to achieve anything requires faith and belief in yourself, vision, hard work, determination, and dedication. Remember all things are possible for those who believe.” ~Gail Devers, Olympic Champion

Now is the perfect time to dust off those God-given desires and dream BIG!!
