Two Biblical Strategies for Financial Increase

Two Biblical Strategies for Financial Increase

Financial increase is within your reach! Many of you have heard my story about how I conquered six-figure credit card debt by trusting God for my provision. During that season of life, my heavenly Father taught me a few strategies to put into practice. Today, I want to talk about two Biblical strategies for financial increase.

Strategy #1: How to Meditate on the Word of God

“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.” Joshua 1:8 NKJV

To meditate means

  • To ponder
  • To confess
  • To mutter or speak softly

You can’t just read the Word once and expect to receive your promise. You have to read the Word, speak the Word, and hear the Word over and over and over again. That’s how faith comes.

Meditation expands your faith to the point that what’s in your spirit man becomes more real to you than anything on the outside.

Oh, how I love Your law! It is my meditation all the day. You, through Your commandments, make me wiser than my enemies; For they are ever with me. I have more understanding than all my teachers, for Your testimonies are my meditation.

Psalm 119:97-99

There’s a reason God instructs us to meditate on His Word when we are believing for a breakthrough. We need to be changed on the inside before we see change on the outside (in our circumstances). Meditating on God’s Word accomplishes that.

Strategy #2: The Power of Financial Decrees

Making decrees based on the Word of God is powerful because it aligns our thoughts, words, and faith with what God has already said. Job 22:28 tells us, “Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee…”

When we boldly decree God’s Word, we are coming into alignment with His promises. We are choosing to speak based on His truth rather than based on our fear, lack, or discouragement.

The practice of speaking God’s promises out of your mouth matters when you are believing God for a financial breakthrough. Decreeing God’s promises builds your faith because faith comes by hearing the Word of God—and that includes hearing it come out of your own mouth.

Financial Decrees Quote
There is something powerful that happens when you stop rehearsing everything that is wrong and begin boldly declaring what God has promised.

Decrees help shift your focus from the problem to the Provider. They remind your heart that God is not limited by your circumstances, your past mistakes, or the size of your need.

When you consistently declare, “My God shall supply all my need,” or “The Lord delights in the prosperity of His servant,” you are planting seeds of faith in your spirit. You are strengthening your expectation. You are making room for hope to rise. And when hope and faith rise, you become more confident, more peaceful, and more anchored in the goodness of God.

This is what happened to me when I declared God’s promises over my mountain of debt. After daily decreeing God’s promises for only a few weeks, I got to a point where I knew without a shadow of a doubt that my breakthrough was going to happen.

And you know what? After what felt like forever, I finally paid off all the debt (without bankruptcy!). Glory to God!

What God does for one person becomes an invitation for all to experience. Right now, God is asking you to step into the realm of His glory and live by faith, trusting Him as your provider, no matter how desperate your circumstances seem. What He did for me, He will absolutely do for you!

“Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways.” –Job 22:28

“God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.” –Romans 4:17b

“Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” –Proverbs 18:21

You Need a Vision of Victory

Both of these strategies, meditating on God’s Word and making daily decrees, began to form a vision of financial victory in my imagination. Confidence and peace began to flood my soul. Without peace, fear will grip your heart, and the promises of God do not respond to fear; they respond to faith.

What are you allowing yourself to imagine? The worst possible outcome? Or victory over your circumstances? Choose to see yourself victorious because God says you are more than a conqueror!

You Must Believe God’s Word

In order for these strategies to work, you must first believe God’s promises are for your life. I like how Dr. Cindy Trimm explains in her book, Commanding Your Morning Daily Devotional, how to walk out the promises of God in reference to 2 Corinthians 1:19-20:

People often think that when they have prayed for something once and not received it, perhaps it is because God’s answer to the question was, “No, you can’t have that.” Paul tells us that God is a “yes” and “amen” God! Many times, prayers do or don’t get answered because we are simply not practiced enough in the way of prayer, or we have not given God anything to say yes or amen to. As long as you are praying His Word according to His will, God’s answers to your prayer will always be yes and amen, but that is often followed with an enabling—an instruction or a word of wisdom—that is necessary to then walk the answer out. God is Your Faithful Provider

The Bible verse I meditated and declared more than any other was Philippians 4:19, “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”

I meditated on that verse so much that I eventually came to believe it with all my heart, and nothing anyone could say would change my mind. I knew that I knew that I knew God would come through for me, and that one day He would provide a way out of the financial mess I had made. I didn’t know how, I didn’t know when. But I KNEW it would happen. God does not lie. He HAS to perform His promises! (See Numbers 23:19)

Financial Breakthrough Finally Comes

Eventually, I found myself paying off all my creditors, and I cannot tell you how great it felt to finally have all that debt behind me. Glory to God! Now, as someone who has walked through the storm of financial distress and come out the other side victorious, God has called me to minister hope to you and encourage you.

I came across the following financial decree by one of my favorite preachers of all time, Dr. Jerry Savelle. I believe that if you commit to declaring it every day, you will reap the abundance God wants for you.

Daily Financial Decree for Financial Increase

The blessing of God is on my life and empowers me to prosper. The favor of God on my life produces the opportunities to make it happen. Psalm 37:23 tells me, “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord.” And because the Holy Spirit in me guides my steps, I am always in the right place at the right time.

CONCLUSION: Financial Increase is Within Your Reach

My friend, if you follow the keys and strategies I share in all my books and my blog articles, I promise YOU WILL see financial increase in your life.

1 John 2:3 tells us, “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.” This clearly tells us that God wants you to prosper. He wants good things for you (see Jeremiah 29:11 NIV), including financial increase!
