To change your life by mastering your thoughts is not just a great idea that came out of the pop psychology movement. It’s a divine direction straight from the Word of God. Our Creator hard wired our brains for love, joy, peace, and faith. According to Dr. Caroline Leaf, a Christian neuroscientist, when we focus on the opposite of these, it causes chaos in our brains.
When I was in my thirties, a life coach came to speak at the company where I worked. I hired her to be my coach. One of the first things she pointed out to me was how pessimistic I was. After two sessions, she fired me because I was too negative, and she couldn’t help me.
I was deeply offended. But more importantly, it made me take a good hard look at how my destructive thoughts impacted my life. At that point, my life was a struggle. I was in a long-term dysfunctional relationship, my health was a mess, and I suffered from extreme anxiety and panic attacks.
My world became so unbearable that I decided to take responsibility and change my life. I made it my mission to master my thoughts and change my attitude. I didn’t want to be at the mercy of my negative thinking habits any longer.
I attended every personal transformation seminar and workshop I could find. I met people who inspired me to grow and evolve, so I signed up for life coach training. Listening to motivational preachers became a daily habit. As did reading the Word of God. The rest is history. Glory be, hallelujah!
To this day, taking my thoughts captive is something I work on consistently, as if my life depended on it. Because I genuinely believe the fruitfulness of our lives does depend on it.
I am intentional about what I focus on and what I allow to influence my mind. I choose my thoughts carefully. I’m intentional about who I spend time with and my environment, and how it impacts my mindset.
Now, by the grace of God, people know me as a positive, motivational, and inspiring person.
I don’t share all this to brag, but to show you that if I can change my life through the power of mastering my thoughts, then so can you.
The best part is that now I get to live my divine calling as a life coach. I get to live my passion of empowering others to live their dreams and change their lives for the better by sharing what God taught me about changing my life for the better.
One thing I know for sure is that you can change your life by mastering your thoughts.
